Junior lawyers were spending days on initial review of standard contracts; consistency was variable and key terms were sometimes missed. We implemented an AI-assisted workflow: upload contracts, automatic extraction of parties, dates, obligations, and key clauses into a structured format, with a side-by-side view for lawyers to confirm or correct. We trained on their historical reviewed contracts and defined confidence thresholds for “auto-accept” vs. “flag for review.”
Piloted on one practice area first; average time for first-pass review dropped by about 50%, and the number of post-signing issues attributed to missed clauses decreased. The firm has since extended the workflow to two more practice areas.
